Never made a pie before? This is where you start. Workshop 101 is our introductory class for absolute beginners.
Andrea walks you through every step, from measuring flour to pulling a golden pie out of the oven. You will learn to make pastry by hand without a food processor, how to roll dough without it sticking, and how to tell when your filling is ready. No prior baking experience needed. If you can hold a rolling pin, you are qualified.
Workshop 101 runs about two and a half hours. Groups are small, usually six to eight people, so Andrea can give everyone personal attention. You work at your own station with all ingredients and tools provided. By the end of the session, you will have made a complete pie from scratch to take home.
We always use seasonal fruit from local farms. In spring, expect rhubarb and strawberry. Summer brings blueberry and peach. Autumn is apple season. The filling changes, but the technique stays the same.
$95 per person. Gift certificates are available if you want to give someone the experience of making pie.
Workshop 101 runs on select weekends throughout the year. Dates are announced on our Instagram and through our mailing list. To register or ask about upcoming sessions, get in touch.
