WINTER PIE MAKING WORKSHOP
with Stephanie French, co-owner & baker at The Pie Shoppe
Come join us Thursday, January 30th, for an evening of pie baking!
Together we'll talk about winter fruit, fillings, sugars, starches, perfecting flaky crust, and make a wonderful seasonal fruit pie from our menu at a time when the winter farmers markets are bursting with apples and pears. We'll be working with locally grown organic fruit and locally milled West Coast grain. We will be using the fresh fruit and preparing all the fillings from scratch for our pies. While the pies are baking, we will have some tasty snacks and bubbly beverages.

This workshop is perfect for understanding the fundamentals of preparing a dessert pie for all of your 2020 seasonal baking needs. We will also talk about about making a good pastry dough for future crumbles and custards and perfecting some sneaky pastry techniques. Everyone will walk away with a whole pie they have made, tips, and maybe a few new friends.

WHEN: Thursday, January 30th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
WHERE: At The Pie Shoppe 1857 Powell Street, Vancouver, British Columbia . We are located in the middle of the city. Class size is limited. You will be provided with aprons, rolling pins, a pie plate and tasty eats. Workshops will involve wheat flour. Our space is not gluten free, nor is any of the snacks we provide. Keep in mind our kitchen is really small, so this workshop will be very intimate and cozy.
Note: Please mark down your reservation on your calendar, as once you have payed with your credit card, that is your registration for the workshop.
CANCELLATION: Should you need to cancel you will receive 75% of your money back up to two weeks before the class date. If you cannot attend, yet it is past the refund date, you are welcome to send a friend in your place.
