the apple pie workshop

The apple pie is the foundation of pie-making. In this workshop, we focus entirely on perfecting this classic, learning the subtle craft of selecting, preparing, and baking the best apple pie possible.

why apple pie

Apple pie is deceptively simple, yet incredibly complex. The challenge is balance: balancing sweetness and tartness in the fruit, balancing acidity and spice, balancing structure and flavor in the crust. Master apple pie, and you understand the foundations of all pie-making.

We source apples from multiple BC orchards, tasting different varieties to understand their unique flavor profiles. A Granny Smith brings acidity. A Honeycrisp brings sweetness. A Pink Lady brings complexity. The blend matters.

what you'll learn

the tasting component

We'll taste different apple varieties and discuss how they perform in pie. You'll sample our current apple pie alongside different spice variations, learning how small adjustments create different flavor experiences.

By the end of the workshop, you won't just know how to make apple pie. You'll understand why certain apples work better than others, why timing matters, and how to adjust recipes to match your taste preferences.

what to expect

Plan for two to three hours. You'll work hands-on with Andrea, making at least one complete apple pie from scratch. You'll leave with that pie to take home and the knowledge to make it again whenever you want.

pricing and registration

The apple pie workshop is $95 per person. Space is limited to ensure everyone gets focused attention and hands-on time with the craft.
