Spring Pie Making Workshop

with Stephanie French, co-owner & baker at The Pie Shoppe

Come join us Wednesday, June 5th, for an evening of pie baking! Together we'll chat about spring fruit, sugars, starches, perfecting flaky crust, and make a seasonal fruit pie from our menu at a time when the spring markets are just bursting at the seems .  We'll be working with locally grown organic  fruit and locally milled West Coast grain. We will be using the local fresh fruit and preparing all the fillings from scratch for our pies. While the pies are baking, we will have some snacks and drinks. We will have a truck load of fresh rhubarb and possibly strawberries straight from the Valley to play with.

Nibbles & drinks included!

This workshop is perfect for preparing dessert pie for the anticipated summer season. You will also learn about making a good pastry dough for crumbles and custards for future pie making and work on some pastry techniques. Everyone will walk away with a whole pie they have made, tips, and maybe a few new friends.
