Baking Pie Workshop
with The Pie Ladies
Come join us Wednesday, September 13th for an evening of dough and pastry making! Together we'll chat flour and butter combinations, moulds and shells and fool proof recipes to adapt to all of your baking needs. Learn the fundamentals of making pastry with your hands vs. a mixer. Create a brilliant pastry for all of your savoury and sweet deserts. We'll be working with local and organic ingredients sourced from around here. While the pies are baking, we will have some snacks and drinks.

This workshop is perfect for understanding the foundation of pastry techniques. Everyone will walk away with a pie, a booklet of recipes and tips, and a few new friends.
Learn about pie dough & sweet dough.
Understanding "the crumb" and the appropriate pastry for your desert.
Understanding fats, sugars, and flours.
How to work with different styles of pastry.
Creating decorative edges, tops and moulds.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 13th, 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
WHERE: The workshops are hosted at the New Pie Shoppe location at 1875 Powell Street, Vancouver, British Columbia . We are located in the middle of the city. Class size is limited to 10. You will be provided with aprons, rolling pins, a pie plate and tasty eats. Workshops will involve using flour with gluten. Please note that our space is not a gluten free facility. Keep in mind our workshop is offered in our new kitchen, so this workshop will be very intimate. Lots of parking out front and you are welcome to bring your bike inside the cafe for the duration of the workshop.
CANCELLATION: Should you need to cancel you will receive 75% of your money back up to two weeks before the class date. If you cannot attend, yet it is past the refund date, you are welcome to send a friend in your place.
